Went out to eat with a friend for dinner this evening. The place is a cajun place called Yats. My friend moved here from New Orleans, so she was happy for the suggestion. It’s very colorful inside, as one might imagine, and I just liked the juxtaposition of color on the chairs versus the table and walls. Plus, it gave me a little more of an excuse to work on the fancy-shmancy controls on the “new” software I’ve just started to explore that’s been on my computer forever, but which I’ve never touched.
First of all, let me take you to task on just one thing: a nutria is not a rat! It is a South American rodent which, when in its natural habitat has fur so luxurious that it is hunted by furriers!
Anway.
Yats! Ha! I knew it, you SO are in Metairie! Just quit hiding and go have dinner at my mom’s, wouldja?
And yes, that sort of color combo is the kind of thing that makes my mind EXPLODE. I’m real big on color, which anyone who’s seen any of my paintings is well aware of.
Muskrats are trapped for their fur as well. They’re not really rats either, but I’d though I had read that nutrias were. Must have gotten the info mixed up. So rodent’s aren’t rats?
Yes, I am in Metairie. I’ve been lying this whole time, but the truth is finally out! I’m trying to get into a crewe this very moment, but I’m an out of towner, so I may have to sit things out this time around.
Glad you like the color! I want to find some butterflies to play with and get more color on here.
Aha! He finally admits it. Say hello to the lake for me, wouldja?
Rats are rodents, but not all rodents are rats.
“Rodent” is an order; phylogeny is as follows:
Kingdom – Animalia
Phylum – Chordata (subphylum Vertebrata)
Class – Mammalia
Order – Rodentia
There’s still Family, Genus, and Species after that, and much room for variation.
Color, color, everywhere, color, color, in my hair.
I’m still waiting for my bumble bee.
